Is he proposing having a weekly event at the port, in a wide open area of asphalt? If so, okay. It's like areas that have free races at the local pro drag strip as a deterrent to street racing.

Exactly, I just don't think it will work. The people participating in sideshows are not your weekend auto cross club member types. The whole point of a sideshow, its to cause a show and make a scene on a public street.

Part of me thinks that the sideshow people don't really care if it's legal or not. Another part of me thinks its great if they know they can just do all their stuff at the port where the only people they can hurt are themselves.
